  2. Hey peeps – Is anyone interested in a field trip to Jaques cabaret Monday night to see our very own Miss Frieda Fries tear it up?

congratulations Mandy! (yes, I’m responding to CFF post on CFSV blog)
I celebrated so hard last night I couldn’t make it in this morning…

      • I’ll allow it – GO MANDY GO!

Congratulations Mandy! Now, just another 60 members or so to go until I can hire Maralene, KP, or Nick full-time!

Here’s something you may not know about your coaches here: even part-time employees are paid over twice the “living wage” requirement set by the City of Somerville for their employees and contractors.

In addition, full time employees of Firebreathers Fitness receive full health care benefits AND are paid a sustainable salary. They receive a bonus tied to revenue generated by the business – in effect, profit sharing.

Every single full time employee here earns more money than I do.

Why? Because it’s their business too. Because they’re the ones taking care of you every day. Because they deserve to have one job that pays for them to make a good living… and because you deserve coaches dedicated 100% to serving YOU and becoming ever more outstanding at what they do.

It seems to me like the right way to do things.

Thanks for sharing this JT – yet another reason to make a concerted effort to make CFSV more visible in the Somerville community. It’s so important that businesses pay their employees enough to live and play in the communities where they work – that doesn’t happen nearly enough so I’m super psyched to read this!

            You’re awesome 🙂

          • Wow, that is super impressive. I’m glad to be a supporting member of a community that supports the people who make it run. This is great to hear and I hope we can grow to 300 members and hire all three 🙂

Mental Note: Get certified and convince JT to let me coach part-time. 😉

JT – you are such a hippie. And we love you for it. A CFSV membership isn’t cheap, but I can’t think of a better way to spend my money.

Glad to be a supporting member of this hippie/profit sharing/community/business. Now I understand a little more where all my money is going (if not for a 20kg KB).
