Progressive scaling

As we well know, the weights and scaling choices we make for a WOD should match the intended stimulus of the workout. Most times (at least on some level) the goal is to keep the metabolic intensity high. This can make choosing a scale difficult, even if we’re fairly experienced with a movement.

Ring rows allow us a somewhat unique opportunity to “scale as we go”. As we get into the WOD today, be prepared to shift your foot position, not to make the ring rows easy, but to keep the pace of the workout fast. We still want to be challenged by them, but not to the point that muscular failure forces us to slow down and lose our intensity.

    Clean Pulls: 215#
    WOD: 3+10 @ 75

    CP: 85#
WOD: 4+6, modified to be clean+push press@55# and ring rows

For someone who came in feeling like death warmed over, this was kind of surprisingly fun and made the day a Lot better. Plus, the other 7:30 folks Rocked these thrusters, giving it their all.

    WOD: 5+6 @ 75# hang power C&J

I felt like this was a great WOD for me at this weight: I did the first four rounds of C&J unbroken, but had to break up round #5, so I mostly kept moving but was still challenged by the weight. I think I would probably do this at 85# next time for a bit more of a challenge.
