Ok folks, time to gut up or shut up – it’s 1 rep max deadlift day.  For pretty much all of us, the deadlift will be the movement with which we manipulate the most load (or the heaviest lift we will do).  We get an enormous neuroendocrine response from this that not only affects our whole body but has a lasting metabolic effect hours after the work is done.  Read: we will move heavy weight, and it will be good for us.  As always, it will behoove us not load up beyond what we can move with good positioning (i.e. keeping that back straight), but otherwise today is a day to grit our teeth, bear down and get heavy.
