I wanted to take today’s post to express something that I’m extremely grateful for.  The community at CrossFit Somerville is one of a kind.  It’s something that I’m not only proud to be a part of but that makes me smile every day of my life.  From the supportive nature everyone shows to fellow members to the local community engagement to the urban agriculture initiatives to the smart way you all approach training, I look forward to work every day.  Not only do I feel like I’m in the best CrossFit gym there is, I don’t think I could ever work at another one. Enjoy the holiday and thank you all!

    What a better way to say “thanks” thank via the snatch? Today during open gym some of us will be doing the following WOD: “Snatchgiving”. We will start the time promptly at 5:20pm!

    Snatch on the following schedule and rest 2 min between rounds:
    Round 1 – 6 reps EMOM 5 @ 50%
    Round 2 – 4 reps EMOM 5 @ 65-70%
    Round 3 – 3 reps EMOM 5 @ 75%
    Round 4 – 2 reps EMOM 5 @ 80-85%
    Round 5 – Heavy singles to 100% (no EMOM)

    Optional cashout: HBBS to the song “Flower” by Moby. Whenever they say “bring Sally down” get in a squat. On “bring sally up” you stand up. You spend most of the song at the bottom of a squat. I will be doing this at about 30% tops…
