It’s wet out there

You might have noticed that it’s a little bit wet out there… It’s a little wet in here too.  Union Square is a beautifully unique place for so many reasons.  It also has its share of “quirks”, not the least of which is its propensity to flood.
This most recent deluge has left us a little wet on the inside.
Each time it does, we learn something new about how this building reacts to the excessive water and how we can keep it outside our walls.
Suffice to say we have found a new way that it leaks and are working to fix it so it does not leave us so wet in the future.  You might notice that the main room is not currently set up to full capacity.  We are still functional and will be running classes as normal.  We also greatly appreciate the patience that those of you who joined us Tuesday evening showed as we dealt with these new issues through the evening classes.  Things look to be back to normal soon, but in the mean time we apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your continued support.  Stay dry, friends!

Book Donations

Abigail Russo is collecting donations of books and magazines for the Boston Medical Center.  We have reserved a cubby at CrossFit Somerville with a sign to drop any donations.  See below for details from Abigail:

The Boston Medical Center (the hospital associated with my workplace, the BU School of Medicine) is constantly seeking donations of books and magazines for its waiting rooms. If you want to get rid of books you don’t need (non-academic, please – nobody wants to read your program evaluation textbook) or relatively recent magazines (less than four months old), feel free to give them to me to pass along! There’s an 85% chance that I’ll donate them and not keep them for myself.
