Squatting and jumping are two basic abilities that we like to build.  They both translate to general athletic performance as well as the improved ability to thrive in daily life.  Today, we’ll be combining the two into one fluid, graceful movement.
By starting the jump with a squat, we’ll be forced to move our center of mass through a longer range of motion.  Because of the dynamic nature of the jump, we’ll need plenty of speed out of the whole to keep our momentum building.  Try to make the transition smooth from the squat to the jump so there is no slowing down or resetting on your way to the top of the box.  Conversely, because we’re ending an air squat with a jump, it will encourage us to stay tight and engaged in the bottom of our squat so as to not let it go passive.
