Functional shoulders are important – not only to high levels of physical activity, but also to do even the most mundane of daily activity. When we think about training our shoulders, it’s important to recognize that their ability to stabilize is paramount, that they’re not just about pulling and pushing.

In a workout like today’s, finding and maintaining stable positions for the shoulders will not only help us get through the WOD, it will train into our habits tendencies that will keep us injury proof and functional throughout any activities we choose to engage.

SKILL:

shoulder packing –
dip and ring support
cleans and front rack

WOD:

10 rounds
5 front squats (185/125)
5 ring dips

That pic reminds me of Leyla cranking out the heavy cleans on Saturday – awesome!

WOD: 10:38? with 40# goblet squats and bench dips. Great work from the other 7:30 folks, rocking their own thing!
