A little bit of everything

Have you been dreaming of a movement that involves an explosive hip opening combined with a squat and going overhead?  And have you been wanting to do high reps of this movement at a light weight?  Well, then today is the day for you!

The squat clean thruster covers a lot of patterns all in one complex movement.  Don’t let the light weight fool you – if this movement gets sloppy even at light weights it will become quite the challenge.  Combined with a few double unders to hit your wind a bit and you have a potent stimulus.

STR:

Hang squat clean

max double

WOD:

10 down to 1:
Squat Clean Thrusters (75/55)
20 Double Unders after each round (scale is bar taps only)

We’ll see you one the AM;)

STR: 175# pr with room to go

WOD: 12:54 @ 65#, watching out for janky shoulder. First 5 rounds were doubles and felt great! Stringing together all 20. Then they disappeared right quick and and I did bar taps.

STR: 95# PR, definitely room to go higher
    WOD: 13:00 @ 45# w/ DU, wasn’t as bad as I expected!

Much more importantly: birthday happy hours tonight at Five Horses Tavern in Davis, 6:30pm onwards. Everyone is invited!

Abby, thank you so much for the invite – fb doesn’t allow you to decline with note anymore so I’ll leave the note here – I am unable to make it tonight but I hope you have a fantastic birthday party tonight!

Agreed with Renee! Thanks for the kind invite! I had plans, and am sad to miss toasting the NICEST crossfitter 😀 (take that, Chris!).

When I saw this workout posted last night I thought to myself “I’m glad I don’t go on Thursdays because that workout does not look like fun”…

STR: @ 105# PR. Tried for 115#, failed on the second clean

    WOD: 12:48 @ 55# with bar taps.

It wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be.

Decidedly nothing I would dream of, but glad I went :).

Str: 75#, the front squat part of it still didn’t look great, but they’re better.
WOD: 13:31 with taps and 35#. Once again, thinking I went light turned in to a plenty hard workout.

Great 7:30 class! Second day in a row of folks who don’t always join the 7:30, and it was nice to have them there!
