Loading ourselves up with a challenging weight in workouts can provide a potent stimulus.  With a lighter weight, we can allow ourselves to get sloppy and use movement patterns that are less efficient but feel faster at the time.  Today’s light Rx might tempt you to do just that, but if you are deliberate about using your rack position, you’ll save your shoulders so they’ll be able to stabilize better in the row and in the later rounds of the push press.  Be deliberate and present early and you’ll get much more out of this one.

CFF to CFSV 5k & BBQ!  We’re holding our 2nd running of the CrossFit Fenway to CrossFit Somerville 5k and Barbecue this Sunday, June 28th at Noon. This great cross-community event was a ton of fun last year, and I’m sure it will be again in 2015! We’ll be trying to run some carpools to Fenway at around 11:30 so no one’s car gets stranded!

Independence Day Weekend Schedule Update:classes will be canceled, and CrossFit Somerville will be closed in observance of Independence Day on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, July 3rd, 4th and 5th. We will be holding 1 session, a Invasion WOD Friday, July 3rd at 10 AM. Happy Birthday America!
