We’re going for it, friends! The first workout of the 2017 CrossFit Open has been announced, and it’s also today’s WOD!
The Open is created as a test, and as such doesn’t always produce the most conducive workouts for a class setting. This first entry for 2017 is not only a great class, IT’S EXACTLY THE STUFF WE LOVE! We’ll, the stuff we love to program at least. Buckle up friends! It’s going to be a great Friday!
WOD:

10 dumbbell snatches (50/35)
15 burpee box jump-overs (24/20)
20 dumbbell snatches
15 burpee box jump-overs
30 dumbbell snatches
15 burpee box jump-overs
40 dumbbell snatches
15 burpee box jump-overs
50 dumbbell snatches
15 burpee box jump-overs
*20 minute cap
WoD: 179 w/ 40# DB. Couldn’t muster much (if any!) forward momentum on the burpee box jump-overs, JT’s coaching pointers notwithstanding.

Not sure what to make of this one. I felt really good about the snatches after the first set, and held on to what I’ll describe as “pretty okay” form the whole way through. I started “lazy” on the box jumps, but kinda wonder what would have happened if I’d done them a little more aggressively. I’d like to try this again some time (on my own?) to see what changes.
