This was an awesome weekend, and I was glad to be with Christine (and Mel!) as she returned to the Bay State Games to test her lifts in a competitive environment. She had a good day and completed a total of Snatch and Clean&Jerk that matched her last year’s effort – while also having gotten lighter and made some strong attempts at heavier weights. Next year we’ll go down a weight class and get even heavier on the lifts!

Christine has been a regular at our Olympic Lifting specialty class on Wednesday nights. We’ll continue to offer them, and it’s a great way to put in an hour practicing technique and having a full hour each week to work on getting more comfortable the lifts and working on your strength. Come join us to give it a try! Olympic Lifting is a good way to get a taste of competition without having to complete 4 WODs in a day – and it’s a great way to give yourself a goal to focus your training.

Today’s strength will give us a chance to work on unilateral strength while working on our core strength as well. We’ll move from that into a nice 4 round WOD that mimics some classic mainsite formats and putting in some juicy cardio elements to start your week off right!

STRENGTH:
Back Rack Lunge Steps x6
(3 each side)

WOD:
4 Rounds for Time
400m Run
10 S2OH (95/65)
10 Bar-Facing Burpees
