Grip to lift, scale to move

Nick | 10/11/2017 | 2

We’re working our overhand bar grip on our lifts and Metcon-ing on a bodyweight blaster.  While a mixed grip will generally allow you to load up more, it doesn’t translate to most of our lifts.  This makes it important to test the limits of an overhand grip from time to time.

Our WOD is a series of bodyweight exercises.  While some of these are technical, we’re looking to scale to move today.  Don’t get hung up on the edge of you skill level – pick a version that will keep things burning!

STR:

Deadlift

5-5-5-5-5

*overhand grip

WOD:

4 rounds

25 double unders

15 toes to bar

10 pistols

5 handstand push ups

  1. Kevin says:

    Str: 275# w/ switch grip
Word: 12:07 ALJ on pistols, leg lifts, handstand push-ups unbroken

  2. Jon says:

    Str: 245#
WoD: 12:57 ALJ (pistols on one side were pretty messy)

Spent a lot of time looking at the bar for the toes-to-bar and probably should have scaled back there.
