Getting Our Goals

As your coaches, we love to work with you to help you reach your goals. This Sunday at Open Gym I got a chance to catch up with Mariel – she asked for a strength program a while ago, and has been putting in the work to get stronger. As a result, she went from a 125# max squat to 145# in just six weeks!

That’s a huge improvement, and after a two week deload period she’s back at it again for another four week cycle. If you’re interested in getting stronger, or working on your gymnastics ability, or just dialing in on specific goals, ASK US! We’re happy to help set up a plan for you.

Of course, sometimes it takes a team to get to our goals. If you want help with accountability and guidance throughout the process, we’re certainly able to set up a personal training schedule that will keep you motivated and on track. Email Mel and ask her to schedule some time with a coach for you!

As for my personal goal – the one that’s been on the goal board for the past 7 months – I’m getting really close to the election! November 7th is the big day, and I’m going to need a lot of help that Tuesday making sure everyone who has committed to vote for me gets out to the polls! I’ll need help on Monday night and all day Tuesday until 8pm, and then you’re all welcome to join me for drinks at the end of election day to celebrate!

If you’d like to join the team, just send me an email! It’s an “all hands on deck” kind of moment, and I know I can’t get there without help.

For the next few weeks, we’ll be really emphasizing the “Double Overhand” grip in your deadlifts. This means **no alternated grip** – we’re planning to get stronger in the hands while we also strengthen the backs, mindlines, and legs.

In the WOD, it’s a two-fer. We’ll be going at one sprint for four minutes, giving it a bit of rest, and then going at it again and trying to beat your score the first time around. What’s better than a sprint? TWO SPRINTS!

    WoD: 3+3 / 2+13 Rx. Coulda used 4 min rest in between sets rather than 2….

    Wod: 2+25; 2+0 Rx; still need to string together consistent DU

    Like Kirstie warned us, those pushups got pretty slow in the second round.
