Ain’t No Party Like a Pickaxe Party

Hi Folks, JT here with a facility update.

As you read here yesterday, we’ve had an issue. The plumbing line out to the sewer for this building is well over 100 years old clay pipe, and it finally gave up the ghost this week.

As a result, our showers and toilets will be out of order until I can get it repaired. We have a porta-potty next to the front door, but no showers for now. Please plan accordingly!

I have an excavation crew hired to come in and do the major construction work, and they’ll be beginning work this Monday or Tuesday. Work isn’t scheduled to take long, and we should be back at full functionality by the following week!

That’s the good news. The bad news is that our sewer line runs directly under the chicken coop!

In order to save the chicken coop – so that we can put chickens back into it – we’re going to need to move it. I’ve begun digging out the base of the coop to expose the timbers. We’ll need to clear it off, and then a crew of people using their functional fitness to pick up our giant heavy coop and move it a few feet off to the side.

If you’d like to join the pickaxe party, feel free to BYOShovel and join me at CrossFit Somerville!
THIS SATURDAY: 1pm
THIS SUNDAY: NOON

In the meantime, I apologize for the inconvenience, and look forward to a time in the near future when our plumbing will be better than ever!
