An Old Saw

A “Saw” in my upbringing was an old saying capturing some piece of basic truth. Maybe so basic we forget to see it anymore.

Back Squats in some way are the most basic truth of strength training. You can play around with it, dress it up on the sides, modify it a million ways… but getting strong always comes back eventually to “SQUAT HEAVY”. We’re going back to that truth again today and making it the main course of the meal, so after a quick warm up and stretch we’re gonna squat like we mean it.

Speaking of old sayings, one of my favorites is “how can I miss you if you never go away?” Mel is out of town for the next three weeks, but there’s two reasons not to be too sad about it.
(1) You’ll get the chance to miss her and be super excited when she returns, and
(2) You’re gonna have a lot more JT time for the next three weeks. And we all know that JT time is Magic Time.
