Traffic around Union Square is rarely what one might consider “fun”.Β  Starting today, however, there will be some new challenges getting to the gym by car (or bus).

Traffic coming into Union Square eastbound on Somerville Ave will be diverted back westbound on Elm Street (see picture).Β While it’s possible to take side streets from Elm that take you to the other side of the square and line you up to get on the north end of Prospect Street, you’ll still most likely end up waiting in a long line of traffic to make the loop.Β  If you’re driving in from the west, it’s best to plan ahead and find another way in.

Here’s a link detailing the city’s plan.Β  This detour looks to be in place for 6 months, so we’re all going to need a little patience as we navigate through Union for a while…
