Getting up again

Nick | 03/12/2019 | 2

We’re hitting some Turkish Get Ups again this week to get some more practice in with a movement we don’t see as much.  Then, we’ll be doing an AMRAP version of rowing “Helen”.

When we did TGU’s last week, we realized many of you had never seen them before and we felt that it would be useful to get some more practice in while they are fresh.  They explore mobility and stability in many ranges of motion that we don’t get as much in the more standard strength movements we see here.

After that, we’ll be going through as many rounds of the workout “Helen” (with rowing instead of running) as we can in 12 minutes.  It’s usually a 3 round workout – can you get more than 3 in 12 minutes?

Turkish Get Ups

WOD:

AMRAP 12

500m row

21 kettlebell swings (53/35)

12 pull ups

Str: 40# on the Turkish Get-Up
WoD: 3+33 Rx. Dropped to singles on the pullups by the middle of round 3 but had about 10 seconds left to hop on the rower and get a few final pulls in before the time cap.

    Str: 65#
WoD: 3 rounds. So grippy! Tried to catch Josh, couldn’t quite get back to my rower…
