Retesting the Mile

JT Scott | 05/12/2019 | 5

We’re at the end of our cycle, and that means going back to the start to see how much progress we made in the past 6 weeks!

If you check out that blog post, you’ll see 5 comments from some of the finest people on earth. Don’t worry about the old adage of “never read the comments”… this ain’t the internet in general. Each comment is short – just a record of what happened in that day’s workout. For those of you who DON’T have notebooks or apps, posting to comments is a great way to keep track of how you’re doing. It’s not bragging… just keeping a record somewhere you know you’ll always be able to find it.

Keeping a log – even if only in our comments – is the single best thing I can recommend you add to a regular routine of just showing up here 3-5x/week. It’s easy! Just come back to the blog after class and jot down your score!

As for the WOD, you’ve been there before so I don’t have to tell you much about it. Re-read that blog if you want a reminder of what we’ve been working on and why you’ve heard us say the words “power position” so often in the past month and a half. 😀 But when it comes time to load up for sets across, aim higher than you did back then… and then get ready to run like hell to beat your time from six weeks ago!

STRENGTH:
EMOM 10
3 Hang Power Cleans (same weight for sets across)

WOD:
Run 1 Mile

So I cheated a bit and did this at open gym on Wednesday, which was warmer and much less rainy than Monday.

    That said:

    Str: 155#
    Run: 6:55

Sadly couldn’t make it to the test at the beginning of the cycle, so no points of comparison for me.
