Doubling Down

Welcome back CrossFit Somervillens! We’re coming into the last week of Coach Jenna’s cycle, which means a few things for the week.

1) We are re-testing our benchmark, Cindy, this Wednesday. I’m excited to see how much y’all have progressed, not just with your pushing strength but also with your mental preparation. We’ve done pushups in lots of different formats, and y’all probably figured out during Chelsea what it takes to put together a bunch of rounds on the minute.

2) This Friday is workout #2 of the CrossFit Open – so for the evening classes we’ll be doing our thing in competition-style heats again. We won’t know until the workout is released on Thursday how long the heats will need to be, or how many we can have in each heat, so if you plan to attend on Friday night please email info@ and we’ll send you a note Thursday night with the plan and the sheet to sign up for heats.

For today, this is a fun doubled WOD – do 3 rounds of one workout, and move immediately into the next. That means setting up for both a the start, and being ready to move from one challenge directly to another. We’ll get you ready and fire you off into this 15-20 minute challenge.

WOD:
For Time:
3 rounds
18/15 calorie row
20 kb swings (53/35)
* Directly into:
3 rounds
10 power cleans (135/95)
40 double-unders

    7 p.m.ers won’t be able to re-test? (Since there is no 7 p.m. class on Wednesdays) 🙁

    14:30 Rx. The cleans (singles from the get-go) were the big challenge at that weight for me.

    WoD: 13:54 Rx

    These last couple weeks have certainly helped refine my “do cleans while gassed” skills.
