Monday 9/13/2021 – Turkish Get Up. Enough Said.
Hey folks! I apologize, I spaced on posting the blog last night as we are changing the class/coach around this week. I’ll bet doing the Monday / Tuesday pm classes and Nelly will be taking Wednesday / Thursday. I don’t want you to be disappointed when you show up tonight and it is me! I know I would be.
Today we will work on the Turkish Get Up which is a mix of strength and skill. If you’ve never done it, get ready for a challenging movement that focuses on balance and strength instead of just raw power like the Deadlift. We will build weight and each set will be done right arm / left arm as we progressively get heavier.
Once that is done, we will keep that movement in a 16 minute EMOM consisting of 4 total movements.
Minute 1 – Stop Sign Sprint (100M)
Minute 2 – 20 Ab Mat Sit Ups
Minute 3 – 15 Russian KBS (70/53)
Minute 4 – 2 Turkish Get Ups (1 / arm) (Pick load)
As a running scale, we can do 20 seconds of burpees
