Omicron closure extended through Jan 17

At least the line isn’t quite vertically asymptotic anymore…

Hi folks,

As much as we’d love to be back to coaching group classes in person, we’re still seeing numbers increasing – in the sewer data, in the Somerville case incident rate, and in the numbers of positive tests in the Somerville Public Schools. Our group-classes closure will continue for another week.

To be clear, this isn’t just a question of “how serious is omicron”, as in “will our members die if we have a cluster at CFSV”? Data continues to come in about long term effects, including increased onset of diabetes (Types 1 and 2) in children who contract SARS-CoV-2.

In any case, we continue to have all of those slots available for solo workout times and have updated the schedule for the next week to remove group classes. We’ll continue reassessing the available data each week and keeping you in the loop as to the plans on a week-by-week basis. Hang in there, stay safe, and we hope to see you soon!
