New Season, New Cycle

Today marks the start of a new programming cycle, once again.  It’s been about six months since we went through our backsquat/benchmark cycle, so it’s time to check on the girls once again and see where the last half a year has taken us.  This time around we’ll be focusing on and testing our front squat instead of our back squat.  And not only will we see many of the “girl” WODs throughout this cycle (some that showed up last time, and some that perhaps did not), expect a healthy sprinkling of classic mainsite (www.crossfit.com) WODs that aren’t technically “benchmarks” but are still representative of what CrossFit is all about.  Strap yourselves in – it’s going to be a fun six weeks!

30 clean and jerks (135/95)

    FS: 185#, 2 fails at 195#. Maybe shouldn’t have skipped 190#

    Grace: 3:02rx. 5 seconds slower than 10/18/13, but battling a bit of a cold, so was very satisfied with that. Did 2 sets of 5, and intended to do 3 sets, but went to singles after rep 12.

      185! That’s amazing. Olivia we work out at different times but you’re my role model – I see your times and weight on the board when I work out at 12.00 and I see what to aim for… in about 5 years. Nice work!

        Thanks Clare! I just do what I can and try not to drop any weights on my head.

        I’m off work this week so maybe I’ll bump into you at a noon class one of these days!

    FS: 100# – a PR higher than I’d ever gotten with my old bad depth \o/.
    Grace: 3:57 @ 55# – should’ve gone heavier, now I know.

    This looks like a Fun cycle! Yay!

    Also – awesome work for newbies and old hands alike in the 7:30!

    FS: 145#, same as on 8/27/13 (last time I did this)

    Grace: 4:36, 65#.
    I definitely could do more if I could improve my form with cleans.

    Grace: 5:49 @ 75# (Got 5:43 in October I believe…)
