DT

It’s been a while since we programmed DT, but it fits right in to what we’re doing this cycle: moving fast with heavy loads. We’ll spend the first part of class going over technique for these movements and warming them up to a heavy weight, and then preparing to take on these 5 rounds with gusto.

Nick’s blog advice from 2014 is still solid now: “This one can sneak up on you – the deadlifts don’t seem very heavy but if we’re not careful(ly braced) they can wreck us as we continue into the hang power cleans, especially later in the workout. Midline stability is key, so lock it in from the beginning so it doesn’t become a limiting factor later on. As always, scale well so you are challenged but don’t end up staring at the bar more than you are moving the bar.”

For today, that means go heavy and stay at your bar. You’ll have time to rest when you’re done!
