Power Snatches and Dumbbell DT

Nick | 03/04/2019 | 4

Today we’re practicing touch and go power snatches and getting after the hero WOD “DT” with light-ish dumbbells.

There’s a pretty decent chance that we’ll see some power snatches in the Open still, so today we’re working on the technique we’d want to use to string them together.  That will involve a lot of bracing and prep on the way down from each lift so we’re ready to turn it right back around and pop it back overhead.

We also haven’t yet seen dumbbells in the open, and we’re likely to run into those as well.  Our goal with this WOD today is to choose a weight that allows us to do each round unbroken, without setting the dumbbells down.  We’ve Rx’d this at a much lighter total weight than the original hero, and that’s on purpose.  Scale to move and to get this done in 9-12 minutes.

Power Snatch
