Sleight of hand and twist of fate

OK – somewhere in the beginning (middle) of all this I decided it’d be fun (for me) to try to come up with a song lyric or song title for the blog title. I haven’t been successful every time but I continue to challenge myself. What I’m surprised by, however, is that no one is commenting or guessing the songs with or without google (see what I did there?)- or even commenting on what a stretch the blog title is from the actual work. But whatever, my blog, my title. 🙂
Now that we’ve cleared that up, today’s work has you finding a household object if you don’t have weights at home. It’s a 15 minute AMRAP starting with 10 single-arm shoulder to overhead. Depending on your load, these can be strict presses, push presses or push jerks – but don’t be jerking a light weight! Challenge yourself!! Next is 10 single-legged deadlifts (5 per side). Handy video is below, but remember, keep that spine neutral, stay active through the midline and engage those hamstrings! Finally, 20 mountain climbers with a twist. Another handy video below.
I miss you all. Hope you’re staying safe and healthy. As always, if you need anything at all, feel free to reach out to any one us. Oh! And be on the lookout for zoom yoga with Melinda from time to time! Maiden voyage today and it was a lot of fun. Need to see more of your faces on these zoom wods! xoxo
AMRAP 15
10 SA S2OH with object
10 single-legged DL with one or 2 objects
20 mountain climbers with twist
Thanks, Nelly!
7+13 with a 35# KB. Realized this morning that I have a hard time pushing myself to keep moving when there’s no one watching. The “water breaks” between rounds are getting comically long…
8 + 18 with 20lb dumbbell (1 for S2OH, 2 for DL’s). This was a fun one. First round went real fast then turned into a struggle to maintain balance and form on the deadlifts
7 rounds even
Hardest part was maintaining a grip on the bricks I was using as weight during the deadlifts. Solid workout.
10 + 15 with a single 30lb dumbbell. Strict press
