From a strict pull to a strict push

Hello athletes! I hope you taking advantage and getting back into the gym for the morning group fitness time with JT!
Today’s strength work will be a 180-degree switch from yesterday’s strict PULL work and be strict PUSH. The movement will be the Strict Press and you’ll be taking the barbell from the rack into your front rack position and then press it straight overhead.
As you perform this movement, focus on the brace to ensure strength through the core. Also, when you drive the weight straight up over head to a fully locked out position, remember there is no assistance by dipping and driving with the hips. As soon as you must do this, you are lifting too heavy for this movement. Start light and build the weight each set of 5 reps.
Once that work is completed it is WOD time so take the weight on your bar down to something that will be lightly challenging for the Thruster. If you’re after the RX, the weights on this one are (75/55).
For the WOD, you will complete four rounds of each: Run the 400M course, followed immediately by 10 thrusters. This one got a bit spicy during testing, but it was solid work, so enjoy it.
