Northeast Regionals
If you haven’t already, there is still time to grab tickets for the Northeast Regionals being held at the Reebok headquarters in Canton, MA. This promises to be a weekend full of intensity and hopefully some world record performances. There will no class held Friday the 25th, or Saturday the 26th.
If you have been following any of the other Regionals going on each weekend, then you know some of the ridiculous scores being put up. Here are a few that are definitely noteworthy.
Dan Bailey’s World Record “Diane”
Strength
Front Squat
3-3-1-1-1-1
WOD
21-15-9
Calorie Row
Burpees
Hang Power Clean (75#/55#)
i took friday off to join in on 3 days of crossfit fun!
front squat: 135#…didn’t get after this in the smartest way and my head really wasn’t in it. failed twice at 140#.
wod: 9:11 Rx. yeah…i could do without rowing.
FS: 265#, PR by 25#. Not sure how I pulled that off, but I’ll definitely take it. FS now only 10# behind BS and 40# behind DL. It’s probably time to focus on those two movements.
WOD: 8:38 Rx, nice change of pace to use a lighter weight in a workout. Was able to do them all unbroken and speed through the last round.
Also, the Spealler and Bailey Diane WODs are ridiculous. They make 225# look like an empty bar. It’s too bad it looks like they sacrifice full ROM for speed, but still amazing.
1. My car bumper didn’t get through the workout as well as I did. Did anyone nudge a blue Honda Civic in the parking lot this morning?
2. FIVE people at 5:30 this morning. We had to share racks! A mob! great class, I especially like a WOD where I can do each move. PR for me on the front squat (98#)- my run of PRs may be drawing to a close but I am enjoying it!
3. Now that it is light so early and nice outside, how about some hill repeats over on Prospect Hill/Walnut Street/ over by Bloc 11? Could that be a Crossfit thing?
Hillary, I am totally down for hill sprints. I’m not much of a runner, but much more a fan of sprinting and have been wanting to get some regular hill sprints in for a while. Just let me know when and where!
2nd the hill sprints! and maybe hill buddy-carries!
Ha! Yes!!!!
hah! I wasn’t sold on sprinting – but buddy carries sealed the deal. Dibs on a tall person for hilarity’s sake! 🙂
yosh, do we have sandbags? …if not, can we get sandbags? for those of us that are vertically challenged, carrying someone on the back unless they are shorter than said vertically challenged person becomes really, REALLY awkward. includes a lot of toe dragging…
I love hill repeats. I don’t know much about Prospect Hill, but my favorite hill to run on is Summit Ave in Brookline. I’d be down for hill runs/carries any time. Also, do Harvard Stadium runs sound like something people could get behind?
I love all the hill sprints enthusiasm! Buddy carry… oh my, I can’t breathe once I reach the top of Prospect Hill, I think I’d need an ambulance if I had a buddy on my back. I’ve done Summit Ave in the past (unhealthily followed by a burrito at Ana’s…) – tough! Trustee coaches, can we get these onto the agenda for a workout? I’m stuck with working out at 5:30 am…
AMRAP burritos?
(BAM – one more!)
I’ll take a swing over there sometime and see what I can come up with.
today 5:30am PR-ed in attendance.
let’s keep it going! 🙂
we might be PR-ing the comments section, too. BOOM. here’s another one.
Good turn out at 530 this morning. Good to see some new faces and Mandy, as always, welcome.
JT and Marcos, where are you?
Front Squat: 275#
WOD: 9:46 RX
Hi Harry!
As Mandy mentioned she would be at CF Fenway, I decided to keep checking some of her “warm up-wods”…but I was told that she is every morning at Somerville…
Missing the workouts with you guys early in the mornings. In two weeks, I will do a whole week at Somerville.
Nice job, Harry!
Front Squat: 110# PR
WOD: 11:55 RX
Front Squat – 115# PR
WOD – 12:08 Rx
PR City tonight! Great job guys!
FS: 190#
WOD: 8:27 Rx
Good work, 6pm!
That FS is a new 1-rep PR, too. I also had a 2-rep PR in the course of failing at the third rep, but I can’t remember what it was.
