DL: 305#.
WOD: 6:48rx. A little slow on the turnarounds w/ the plate push. possible hint on the plate pushing – try to get your arms locked out behind your head, like the top of an overhead press
Two bits of plate-pushing advice for the night crew:
1) keep your head down (a la ‘downward dog’) because it keeps your shoulders at the angle for good pushing. just trust that you wont’ crash…you’re fine.
2) don’t try to scale down to the 15#…those little ones are different material and don’t slide. i actually scaled UP mid-wod because i just couldn’t get the stupid thing across the floor! (way easier with 25 than 15)
DL: 375#, 1 at 415#. This was a 30# jump for both, and I met my June goal of breaking 400#.
WOD: 8:53, with 195# DLs instead of C&Js. I think I hate Plate Pushes.
Also met my other June goal of 7 dead-hang, unassisted pull-ups today.
I seriously need to refocus on eating better and working harder. I recently did 295# sumo deadlift, and felt at the time like I could go higher. I thought for sure my next deadlift would crack 300 and it just did not happen tonight. Topped out at 275.
WOD felt good at 115# and a 35# plate. 11:52? Plate pushes are no joke.
DL: 305#
WOD: 11:50 RX. Plate pushes were fine until I started leaving a trail of sweat and ruining the meager amount of traction that I had. Then it all went to shit. Tore a bit off the sole of my shoes too…
This one was delightful today – glad I got to do it with Nick at 5:30am before putting the 6:30am class through the paces! The advice to keep your head down and shoulders active is a very good one.
DL: 275#
WOD: 7:58 @ 115#. That plate push was murder on my quads. Definitely want to keep your head down and your arms as parallel to the floor as possible to minimize the amount of downward force on the plate.
I am still kinda pissed off at the 35# plate I had such a difficult time pushing across the floor yesterday. I don’t remember being as frustrated by any WOD as I was with pushing that fucking plate around.
I initially tried incorporating people’s advise, which proved helpful at first, but after all the sweat on the floor made it difficult to obtain traction under my shoes, I ended up just throwing my body forward and pushing the plate small distances in the process. Fucking plate!

Damn, Amos! Nice work.
7?!?!?!? I missed the part when you got off the bands….but I am STOKED for you!!! SO AWESOME!!
also, I think I’m going to have to make my dad check under the bed for Damian before I go to sleep tonight…
