Wounded Warrior Project
On September 22, 2012, the Boston Soldier Ride will take place to help benefit the Wounded Warrior Project. Soldier Ride is a unique four-day cycling opportunity for Wounded Warriors to use cycling and the bonds of service to overcome physical, mental, or emotional wounds. The rides are exhilarating and a great way to help warriors gain confidence and realize you can do this!
Volunteers are needed, and our own Jaime Bailey as well as Alicia Dunn, are participating at a few of the water stops along the course.
To learn more about Soldier Ride, you can visit:http://www.soldierride.org
If you want to volunteer, you’ll need to sign up with the Boston Warrior outpost here:https://mycarecrew.lotsahelpinghands.com/c/658503/login/?logout&language=en

strength: Push Presses instead of thrusters. #120/ PR
WOD: 10 RX +, 20 lb ball.
my arms look and feel like pre-cooked bacon.
so many jokes about thrusting today.
thurster: 105#, failed at 110#. should’ve just tried it again…
wod: 10 at 20#
Thrusted her at 85# … on the first date. (literally, first time I’ve done this in strength) Looking forward to throwing bigger #s over head in the future. Something over 100… someday.

cheating: catwoman!
thruster – total first-date material! both in terms of strength move and 1 max rep. easy to psych yourself in (or out of) this one. 100#.
WOD: 10 @ 14# (Rx). hint: don’t futz the ball 🙂
Thruster – 90# PR
WOD – 8 @ 20#
My arms are still shaking…
Thruster: 80#
WOD: 20#, no idea how many. I need an abacus next to me for workouts like this.
Congratulations Damien on smashing your goal!
I was actually thinking today, “How is Jaime going to count this without being able to write down tick marks in her book?” I kid you not. I’m sure you did 14 or so.
Thruster: 90#
WOD: RX 10
Glad to be back full time after my excessive traveling this summer.
Thanks Jamie. I got a clean and jerk PR at 205# and a clean PR at 210#. Feels good to cross that one off on the board.
Thruster 205# (Although I got 225# over my head, it was more of a push jerk)
WOD: 11 RX
Thruster: 95# PR
WOD: 11 RX … A runaway ball on round two messed up what probably would have been 12 (Laces out, Dan!)
Mega props to Damien the Monster and to the 20# Ladies Club… Erin B., Cal, Alicia and Jamie (you guys are making the rest of us look bad)
Thanks Erin! We’ll see how my arms feel tomorrow morning…maybe not the smartest choice ever!
