Can you notice the subtle difference between these two pictures? To know the difference could very well be the difference between a successful and missed lift.

FS: 185# After working in kg at Fenway, it’s going to be a tough transition to #’s.

The row really sucked a lot out of me and my pull ups seemed off today. Great work 5:30am!

it’s actually WAY easier than you think, but it makes going back to fenway that much more confusing.

Front squat has been a bit of a plateau for me recently. I managed to get my 1, 2, and 4RM to all be 130#/60kg, failing gloriously at 135# each time. FINALLY BROKE THROUGH! 135# x2!

Wod: 15:07 Rx …I’m never taking 3 days off in a row again. My doubles disappeared today and my rowing was SO SLOW. Looking forward to getting back into the swing of things!

WOD: 23:20. thx 6:30ers for patience & good cheer – it was a stubborn desire to do the 40 DUs per round (or attempts, at least). kinda went single, single, DU, whip self, trip, wheeze, single, DU fail, DU fail, single, trip, rinse, repeat. agony! but will continue to work on it. box jumps – definitely felt those after biking all weekend. PU – green band. need to test that august goal of an unassisted one – will try tomorrow!

  6. Heyo – now that Labor day is over may I start to harass people about the foodie crawl? $20 a ticket gets you in to 15-20 restaurants in East Somerville veg and non veg tasting options (2 food tastings at each restaurant) and then 3 separate dessert receptions (dessert provided, cash bar – every drink you buy all night gets you a raffle ticket too) It was pretty spectacular to see the street come alive last year. I have plenty of tix for sale and will actually be chilling at booth at the Union Sq farmer’s market Saturday selling them.

The profits go to our 501 C3 Charity East Somerville Main Streets. Our other big event is Somerstreets – Carnival which cross fit had a booth in this year. A Main Streets organization promotes neighborhood development via the business district. Union Sq also has a main streets org that is wildly successful. We are a little younger and don’t have anything as cool as the Fluff Fest quite yet but our neighborhood is more of a restaurant row and the Foodie Crawl is more “us” – we had 1200 people attend last year but will only sell 700 tix this year to reduce lines and make it more enjoyable. Come and taste the flavors of East Somerville with us on 9/18 🙂

    Yes, a Tuesday.

FS: 145#. Not pushing too hard as my groin/hamstrings don’t feel quite 100%. I’m going to go even lighter next time, I think, and take it real slow.

WOD: 14:11 Rx. I think I must have done almost as many SU+DU as the SU scale, because I could only string 2 or 3 together at a time, but I got it done. At this point I refuse to go back to SUs: it’s DUs or nothing!

FS: 255#, new 2 rep PR

WOD: 11:29 Rx, definitely felt the long weekend on this one, but it was fun.

Kids tomorrow! Now my inability to count will be even worse 🙂

WOD: 11:01 Rx. During the second set of pullups I could really feel the weekend trying to work its way out of my body through my esophagus.
