push press: 100# – starting to close in on my split jerk…
wod: on account of the quad heavy weekend, i still can’t really squat. so front squats were out of the question. we did 7 deadlifts, 14 hang cleans, 21 shoulder to overhead instead and kept the Rx weights the same.
9:32Rx. i should’ve stayed more on pace with james, but i took too much rest. i was pleased at how fast i was able to hammer through my sets of shoulder to overhead though.
WOD: Same WOD as Cal at 95#. As Cal said, squats were not going to happen today.
9:16 Rx. Got through the deadlifts and cleans unbroken in the first round, but the cleans had to be broken up into sets of seven afterward. Broke up each round of the overheads into three sets of seven. Great job 5:30am!
push press: 145#, jumped to 165# for one and stubbornly stayed there trying to get 3.
WOD: 8:33 rx. struggled more than I anticipated, and didn’t remember until half way through the shoulder to overhead in round 2 that I didn’t have to strict push press. just mentally not quite in attendance this morning…
the workout ruined me. More annoying however was the registration for this class. The 6:30 class was ‘FULL’ as of 10pm last night, but only 8 people attended. Life happens and mornings are hard, but others wanted to register for this class and couldn’t.
If a class is posted as ‘FULL’ be sure to attend or take yourself off the list as early as possible to make room.
Hey Tim, I am not a 6:30er – BUT – last night Zenplanner was really choking, and I was unable to remove myself from a class after many attempts. I had to contact Yosh to get it straightened out, and that may have happened to others too. That said, I (of course) agree with your point.
JT & Co… Would it be possible for the wait lists to be enabled or get some other kind of sign up/notification system in place? I had a similar experience yesterday where the 7:00 class was full when I went to sign up so I was checking back all day to see when/if someone would cancel (a spot eventually opened up). On the other hand, I just went ahead and signed up for all the classes I *might* want to attend this week knowing they’d probably fill up if I didn’t, which is probably exacerbating the original problem.
Zen planner ad the scheduling system was acting funky yesterday, as a result some people may have tried to unreserve their spot and could not. The best thing to do if you know you can’t make it is to get back on the scheduling system and take yourself out. If for some reason you cannot then email me and I can do it from my end. I have definitely received emails from people asking to be taken out of class, so that is definitely a go to if all else fails. As far as sign ups go, the best bet again is to sign up as far in advance as possible. If classes fill up that you’d like To take, you’re gonna have to keep monitoring it to see if a spot becomes available. But yes, please unreserve yourself If you cannot make a class so others have the opportunity to claim that spot.
Yesterday our systems had some temporary outages due to the attacks “AnonymousOwn3r” claimed on GoDaddy’s servers. This was a big attack that had widespread impact on the web, and I’m sorry we got caught in it and that it made class scheduling frustrating for our members. If it becomes a regular occurrence, I’ll be looking into changing our hosting to a more robust company (or at least a smaller one, less likely to be a target for Anonymous).
I’ll also happily acknowledge that classes appear to be filling, and that’s great news! What that means is that we’re growing as a community and that I’ll be adding classes (and instructors) at our popular times so that everyone is accomodated… Because I’m not going to grow class sizes. Your quality of experience is vitally important to me.
Also as we grow, its important that we continue to love and respect each other and the facility. I’ll keep striving for 100% uptime from our system providers and 100% customer service satisfaction as my part of honoring the community. I will also echo Tim’s request that you manage your schedules as best as possible, and remind you that if the systems are down or you can’t get to the web, please also don’t hesitate to contact Yosh directly so we can manage around any issues.
Erin: there is a waitlist functionality that I have in beta, but its been problematic. I may enable it for a week long test and get feedback from y’all to see if it is a satisfactory user experience.
Thanks everyone for the suggestions and feedback, as always! Now that I’m back from vacation I’ll be back to continually updating and improving the systems and the facility.
If you need help moving the site(s) to a different host or adding any WP functionality; let me know, I’d be more then happy to help (it’s what I do for a living π

I think what I’m seeing here is that CFSV is super popular and we may need 6am and 6:30pm classes soon π
