Stay Strong, Stay United.

Last Friday, one of the most horrific School shootings took place in Newtown, CT, where 26 people, mostly children, were killed. There are no words to convey the emotions brought on by this tragedy, but we can honor the victims in the best way we know how. Today’s workout is in Memorial to those who died at Sandy Hook Elementary School. I have also included a link here where you can donate to a Victim’s Relief Fund, started by Jen Powers of CrossFit Southie

My only request is that we do not turn the comments section into a venue all about views on Gun Control, for or against. I in no way am trying to limit everyone’s power of free speech, I just think this would distract from the ultimate cause of the workout. We are doing this, today, to pay our respects and also use for a time of reflection. Let’s all go hard for all the families affected by this, and send our own thoughts and prayers.

“No Parent should ever have to bury their child.”

As much as I absolutely dislike calorie rowing, I stuck through it for them and pushed my hardest to hit 26 cal each time.

I am happy to have done that for those innocent lives that were taken. We were watching the news live at my work when it was happening, and all we could do was cry. I kept thinking about my kids at the daycare and the kids I babysit… I couldn’t even imagine the feeling of ever losing a child. It is also a great tragedy for the adults who lost their lives trying to protect them.

Today’s WOD was an honor. I wasn’t the fastest, but I was determined to finish. Thank you for giving me this opportunity to honor the victims of Newtown.

This one was for you, little Newtown angels. Thanks for programming this. It was an honor. It was a tough one. Second time ever puking after a WOD. I gave it everything I had. 34:29 @ 55# I haven’t worked that hard in a while. And none of my temporary pain could even compare to what people are going through in Newtown right now.
