Atlantic State Championships have been rescheduled for Sunday, March 3rd. This event will take place at North Shore CrossFit located in Danvers, MA. This is going to be a huge event and a great experience for those of you who want to learn more about Olympic Weightlifting. I’ll be competing that day against some of the best and I plan on going H.A.M. Hope you all can make it!
Olivia Peters is trying to organize a team to represent CrossFit Somerville at the Climb for Hope! The Climb for Hope is a race up 46 flights of stairs located at 1 International Place and takes place on April 1st. This stairclimb raises money for Wediko Children’s Services, who provide mental health services for children in the Boston area. Squat Clean: 75# on last two sets, the shrug dip motion is feeling more natural/clicking in because of this lift and KP’s help.
WOD 9:48 Rx (yay first one, I’ll take it!)
Great job 6:30, you guys were da shit!
Squat Clean: 90% 1rm = 88# Those felt good. I need to work on remaining stable and not toppling over or wavering in the squat. I toppled once, and wavered a couple but was able to straighten out and get my full sets in.
&&& Thanks KP for giving me a lesson on percentages this morning!
WOD: 9:04 RX. This one hurt. The end.
^_^
I meant 80% of 1rm…
I meant 80% of 1rm…NOT 90%. UGH!
Clean: 145# I wanted to go heavier, but it was good to stay lightish and keep good form. I love cleans!
WOD: 6:39 RX. This one was fun.
Clean: 180# across
The more I do these, the more I fall in love. I LOVE CLEANING!
WOD: 6:11 Rx++ (SDHP @ 85#, 24″ box)
Great work from everyone today.
I used to HATE cleaning…I’d dread it every time. But now I love it!
Did 75% squat cleans today. They felt a wee bit too easy, which is a good thing. Someday soon I’d like to get a 100# clean. March goal!
WOD: 9:11 Rx. After more than a year at CFSV I still can hardly Rx any workouts, so mentally this was a good one for me. Although it really did suck when the med ball hit me in the face and almost knocked me over. Fuck you, med ball!
Excellent job, 5:30 crew and KP. Happy Friday!
med ball is a dead man
Great work by the noon class! It was a blast to be there hanging out with y’all and jump in for a quick WOD. It’s the best pick-me-up of the day!
7:45 RX
snuck in on the sidelines with the 5 pm…cleans at 165#, rusty but not bad.
2k row: 7:36…way not a pr, but felt good overall to do something resembling a legit crossfit class!
Squat Cleans: 185# across. Missed one in the second round.
WOD: 6:26 Rx++ (30# ball, 30″ box)
Also got my first (and second) bar muscle up today!!!
Saw that – so much badassery!
Squat Clean – 145#
WOD – 9:28 w/step ups
Squat Clean = 75# across – definitely need some work on this movement but making progress recently on my clean has helped
WOD: 6:41 Rx
