Good to go

Brian Hack | 02/25/2013 | 8

We are 9 days away from the 2013 CrossFit Open. If you still haven’t signed up you can go to this link: https://games.crossfit.com/cf/login?returnTo=%2Fcompetition&flow=games to do so. If you are still on the fence I urge you to sign up. I promise this will be an experience you will learn from and grow better for having participated.

For those of you that have, here is a link to put yourself on CrossFit Somerville’s Team https://games.crossfit.com/team.

As the first workout draws closer, more updates will be provided. For now, tentatively, each workout will be hosted at CrossFit Fenway, most likely the Saturday following the WOD announcement. If the Sox have a scheduled home game, we will plan to host the WOD here at CrossFit Somerville. 9 days out, guys. Get psyched.

OHS (Push Pressed yesterday): 135# x3

    WOD: 12:44 (w/5 C2B-T2B scale)

Tough one on the shoulders. Shoot throughs were much tougher than anticipated. Great 5:30 am class!

  2. Olivia says:

    Push Press: 100#

WOD: 12:57 with single unders and jumping muscle ups. Did the last 5 muscle ups at rx, if glide kips=muscle ups….

  3. Cal says:

OHS 5×3 (push pressed yesterday): 100#…which is actually what i push pressed yesterday anyway.

WOD: 10:14 with pull ups/ttb scale. was planning on chest to bar, but i missed my first 4 in a row so…woof.

    go 5:30!

  4. Danimal says:

    Push Press: 175# (185# for 4, a PR)
    These felt difficult today.

WOD: 11:25 (C2B pullup/ring dip x1 scale for bar MU), shoot throughs on p-bars)
Those shoot throughs sneak up on you.

    Great job from everybody today.

PP: 95# Coming back from successive shoulder injuries so I went very light and stayed light. No set backs on my shoulders so I was happy about that.

WOD: 15:31 scaled (PU/red band Ring Dips, 50 singles) I haven’t done a work out for close to a month and it felt like it. Kept moving during this, but struggled with keeping a rhythm to my pull ups and hitting muscle failure on the ring dips.

for the open, would people be interested in organizing a carpool from somerville to fenway on sat AM wods?

    • Olivia says:

Hey! I was just thinking the same thing! I would LOVE to carpool… as long as it’s someone else’s car since I don’t have one. 🙂
