Hey everyone. Sorry for the last minute post on this, but there will be a skills session tomorrow morning at 9am, covering everyone’s favorite…ROWING!!! We’ll be covering the basic mechanics of rowing, some of the settings on the machine itself, and the most common faults that people have. If you find yourself dreading workouts with rowing in them, I encourage you to show up and see if you can make your movement a little more efficient!

    Rowing skills session.
    Saturday 9am at CFSV
Uncapped, free class. Just show up!!

      weight vest?

      • Olivia says:

Ben – You can do it with a 25# backpack on (full of pennies!). It’s the Weight of the Word Division, and is supposed to represent the weight of the worries and problems that some children carry around with them every day…

I’m sure they’d let you bring your own weighted vest if you prefer though. Or do it in full firefighter gear, like others have done in the past. 🙂

        Sign up! It’ll be fun!

    split jerk: 100# (tie PR)
WOD: 7:03 @ 135# (everything from my waist down still is sore from wed—lookin’ at you, BUTT)

sorry to be out of town and miss the rowing sesh — hope it returns!

I’ve been reading through the post work out posts more often and thought its about time I add to it.

    285# Split Jerk
    4:00 rx on the WOD

Great job by the early birds in the 5:30 group.

  5. Lydia says:

    Nice job 7:30!
Split Jerk: 80# (PR, but then I haven’t done them much)
WOD: 10:20 with some dorky hop subs, but 135# on the deadlifts thanks to KP, which got Excellently? HARD.

  6. Donne says:

    Great frackin 6:30 group!

Split Jerk: 102# giving some rainbow love/attention 😉

WOD: 6:32 (125#) feeling those pistols from Weds during last 3 deadlift rounds

Excited for rowing session tomorrow morning!

  7. Ariana says:

    Split Jerk: 125# PR

WOD: 8:27 @ 125#. Those Deadlifts became insanely difficult the last two rounds. And I wasted time constantly pulling my pants up because I bought the wrong size last night -_- SOB haha

    So much fun today

    • Lara says:

YES – what is it with pants always becoming a size too big starting in the middle of a workout?

    • Hillary says:

OMG, I had to keep pulling up my pants, too. I was blaming the pants (super cheapees), maybe it is inevitable.

  8. Lara says:

    Split Jerk = 115# PR
(Shout out to KP and my magical new white-hot sneaks)

    WOD = 6:23 @ 135#
Multiple wardrobe malfunctions made this one a wee bit harder than it should have been. But as usual, 5:30 was a blast, and it was humbling to see so many bad-ass PRs and WOD killers today.

    • Lydia says:

NICE Split Jerk, Lara! You had a “get 100# overhead” goal not so long ago, right? You, KP, and those sneaks are a great team!

  9. Danimal says:

Split Jerk: 195# (failed 205# twice)
Not a PR. Need to improve on my technique.

    WOD: 3:19 Rx
    I enjoy short, heavy metcons.

  10. Brian says:

Split Jerk: 195# PR. Really wanted to get 200# overhead, but only felt solid with 195# after the third try, and then I was out of time. Next time…
    WOD: 3:50 Rx.

  11. Renee says:

Split Jerk: 115# on the 3rd try. FINALLY.

    WOD: 6:06 @ 125#

Fun times – I love when I get to do shoulder to OH movements with Tricia.

Shout out to Ariana who put a lot of weight overhead today. Lot of weight for a little girl so mad props!

  12. Mad mike says:

Split 255# 20 pound PR bitches (275, I’m comin for you)
    703 rx
