welp, didn’t think i’d get thru the open without my nemesis move, right? 🙂
had to psych myself up for wallballs. i did KAREN last year, and although it didn’t quite destroy me, it was one of the most frustrating WODs. repetitive, exhausting, and absolutely unforgiving. #norepblues
13.3: 115 reps. (thank you KP for judging and 3, 2, 1-ing me to get every last rep!) i did my best today, even though i probably didn’t do my body any favors this week due to stress/events/sleep/sick, but that’s how the paleolithic cookie crumbles. i did look forward to busting out the double unders, but i can do them allllll weekend on my own time 🙂
my 2 cents: I found doing a mini-version of double under wod “flight simulator” really helped. basically, I’d start at 1 and try to go up to 5 (unbroken) and back down. Then I’d try to from 1 to 10. The number at each step was small enough to seem do-able, and once you can get 5-10 at will you basically have double unders. Everything else is just working on consistency and maintaining the rhythm.
136 – practiced doubles like I was actually going to get to them. I pledge from now on to Rx + wall balls (unless something crazy like Karen appears with over 60 wall balls in the WOD) this way next year when this WOD appears again (and it WILL) that 14# ball will be like nothing.
I like your thinking Renee. Rx+ wall balls seems like a good idea.
I was at 199 today. Frustratingly close to a round number and frustratingly far away from a muscle up attempt. But my double unders have come a long way in the last three weeks, so I’ll take it.

DO GREAT EVERYONE and SEE YOU NEXT WEEK!

I havent done double unders since the the last time we did this exact same work out last year. Beat last years score by a few, so thats just peachy.

Great success!
Nice work, Erin!
13.3=177.
I used a 16# medball. Not the womens weight. Not the mens weight, but somewhere in between. Yeah thats me.
Also double unders were done one-at-a-fucking-time. Any suggestions on how to get better at DU’s?

I found that practicing DUs while in the nude really does the trick.
Ouch.
177 most doubleunders ever.
This one smokes your shoulders quick. Setup a rep plan for your wall balls and attack the shit out of them.
Kill it folks.

Did 13.3 at crossfit Woburn this morning: 205.
I underestimated the wall balls by a long shot. I wanted 240…I guess I didn’t want it bad enough.
