Helen

Helen is another CrossFit benchmark that looks easy enough on paper but will kick you in the balls if you don’t respect it. True pieces of conditioning attached to this one, although it’s only 3 rounds it feels like one hell of an endurance workout. Each time in from the 400s no hesitation to the kettlebell. Lots of reps there so you might as well start them as soon as possible. Attack the pullups the same way. The reward from Helen is leaving you on your back staring at the ceiling knowing you gave her a good ass whooping. Check out the above video where James “OPT” Fitzgerald, does Helen in under 7 minutes!

Lauren Tymon and Nicole Terramagra are both running to support some great causes. Let’s rally around them and show our support! I live right on Beacon St. and plan on parking camp around Coolidge Corner to watch the race, all are welcome to join. You can find the race schedule here  For those of you looking to WOD, below is a modified schedule for the day. Hope to see you all there!

    Guys,

For Saturday morning’s 10am class I’m going to open it up as a free for all. If you have already used up your weekly attendance that’s fine, just come. Ill also post this in a separate blog tomorrow.

Last year the world lost a really good dude. He was a great friend of mine from high school and I am going to host a memorial wod in his name. I plan on doing it with everyone in class as well. This is something important that I do myself and welcome anyone else to come do it with me. Details to follow sometime tomorrow.

Nice to see Maralene this morning! & LOVED THE REGGAETON! So damn jelly you be going to puerto rico…

Got a 27.5″ box jump this morning ^_^ that was such a mind fuck… if i may appropriately say.

HELEN. 16:57. Red band. wanted to RX it, but my better judgement told me it would take me a long time since I wasn’t on top of my game today from going out last night for a friends birthday…
*Marcos as usual got me through my rounds. From the running to the pullups, he pushed me. If Marcos wasn’t there I know I would’ve taken a hell of a lot longer, solely based on how I was feeling (Tired, heavy, slow)…damn gluten. I need to make more 5:30 classes.

I was also wondering if anyone wanted to go out for lunch tomorrow? It’s the day before the challenge, and It’d be great if some of us got together for our “last SAD meals..” and enjoy ourselves. Just a thought! *cough*bostonburgercompany*cough*

See you tomorrow at 10am! Helen put me back into my bed…

Box Jump: 41.5″ I live for this shit. I love jumping drills.

Helen: 9:59rx. I worked my ass off in the last round to get under 10:00, and I think my feet hit the ground at 10:00, but my chin was over the bar at 9:59 so I’m going with that.

I realized this morning that I did Fran and Helen within 12 hours of each other. I think I’m done with pull ups for at least a day…

    MBJ: 24″
Not gonna lie when I saw this on the board I was like “Nooooo, not box jumps!” Like Ariana, it is such a MF/struggle for me so def enjoyed doing a “Screw You!” smile after landing 24″.

WOD: 14:48 (Green & red band)
Thanks for the call out Olivia during my last run round 😉

Nice job 6:30a you guys are fun to close out after a rough week!

You’re welcome. If I catch you walking again I’m going to plow you over with my bike. In a friendly, supportive, encouraging manner, of course. 🙂

box jump: took a literal faceplant for the team, but i shook my tail feathers and stacked it up to 27″ today. 🙂

HELEN: 13:54. gave legs a break and used 12kg KB & red band. paced the PU in sets of 3. freezing new england weather was a motivating backdrop this morning.

The evening class didn’t do box jumps so I snuck 2 in at 30″ before class. I’m positive my form was horrible. I hid in the corner so Yosh nick and/or Brian didn’t come tell me how awful they looked. …

Miss Helen at 13:45 with a red band.

I think I’ve been snatching my kettle bells up… That’s cool, right?

    Happy Friday y’all …
