Hanging on

Just one more rep… and then one more.

But you’re getting mixed signals.  Your legs, tired of moving the weight, want you to stop.  They ache with each subsequent rep you crank out.  Your shoulders, worn out from stabilizing the load, want you to stop.  They feel the pressure each rep, as the weight crashes back down on you.  Your lungs would just love a minute to catch up, to deliver that life giving oxygen to your beaten down muscles.

But you don’t stop.  Because somewhere deep within you a voice says, “Just one more rep”.  It can be hard to listen to.  Hard to hear even, over the noise of the rest of you begging for rest.  But this part of you knows your true strength.  It knows that if you can finish this rep, that you can do at least one more.  And if you can do that rep, there’s for sure another one in the tank.  If you can manage to just keep moving, this will all be over before you know it and you will come out on the other end better than you were.  This is the part of you I want you to listen to today.  Trust it – it knows you better than you think.  And it wants to see your true potential.

Just one more rep, and then one more.

    HBBS: 135# across (80% of 165# 1RM)

    WOD: 4:44 (10# ball, 1pd)

    Nice sprint workout.

    Great work 630!

  2. Olivia says:

HBBS: 140# across, though I only got 3 sets in because I was slowwwww. And I’m presuming that my 1RM is much lower than in June, because that was 68% and felt really heavy.

Wod: 3:43 with 14# and 3/4 pood. This wasn’t as scary as I thought it was going to be. Probably should have gone with 1 pood.

Good to be back after a week away!

    HBBS: 155# across
    WOD: 4:02, 14# and 1pd

  4. Crosby says:

    HBBS: 160# across (80% of 200# 1RM)
    WOD: 4:16 (20# ball 1.5 pood)

FYI – In honor of KP calling me a “heartbreaker” this morning (a moniker I fully embrace) I listened to Mariah Carey’s classic “heartbreaker” on repeat while cooking eggs this morning.

    HBBS: 260# across
This is 5# heavier than on 9/24 but it felt like #100 heavier. Still got through it.

    WOD: 4:57 (20# ball, 2 pd KB)
I’m not a fan of these “unbroken” style workouts.

  6. Amy says:

    BS: 140#, 5lbs heavier than 9/24

    WOD: 3:50, 26lb kb/10lb ball

I can credit righteous booty to workouts like this

    Hbbs: 155# (1rm 220#), just 10# shy of 75%… perhaps next time

Wod: 5:22 @ 14# ball, 1 pd kb. Great constraint for kb swing mental focus.

Hugs. Btw can we climb ropes soon? 🙂

  8. damien says:

BS: 235#, right between 75-85%, felt like I could jump another 10#

    WOD: 3:41 @1.5pd

  9. Renee says:

HBBS 140# 82% but was 5# heavier than a couple weeks ago. Felt pretty good.

    WOD 4:53 14#, 1 pood

I was going to pick one of those movements to go lighter on but I didn’t and I glad. The “I can’t do it” crap is all in my head. Those ring MU’s are effing with me. SOON….
