Snatching our way into the new year.

Welcome to 2014! Let’s get technical! The goal for today is to build consistency in the power snatch over larger sets at relatively lighter weights. We’ll start by finding the heaviest set of 5 we can string together from the hang and then throw it in a short little burner at a very light weight. Move quickly but work hard to be consistent across the entire workout. Rely on your hook grip as well. As annoying as it can be to get used to, it will be your ally in this workout. Oh, and no rx+ on this workout. It’s supposed to feel light.

Stayed low on strength to work on form, need to keep bar close/ loosen arms for quicker flip. Thanks JT for tip.

Snatches were tough, squat got better (3×7’s, 8/7, unbroken)

So nice to be back and catch up with 630 crew, missed you guys!
    Stay safe and warm everyone.

I started off doing hang power snatches when Nicco told me it was PS, already on my 6th one 🙁

It’s difficult maintaining the hook grip at heavier weights.

Made the same mistake as Jesse.

HPS: 80#. Maintaining the hook grip was tough on my wrists…

Jesse and Dan gave me a nice head start and a chuckle in the first ten seconds of this wod…

WOD: 7:38 with 25# – yeah, it was a day to go easy, and I was ok with that. This was surprisingly tough on the wrists – looking forward to more work on these technical lifts.
