OHS: 80# — i haven’t done 5RM in a while, so this is potentially a PR. Probably had more in me too

WOD: this was a LOT harder than i was anticipating. i had such a difficult time with pull ups. 11:50 Rx. First time doing 14# wall ball, but i suspect the somerville target vs. the fenway target has a lot to do with that… 🙂

great first official day in somerville! looking forward to the next few months!

OHS felt good but I tried to jump up 20# on last set and dumped it right away. Didn’t have time to back it down.

Felt very winded at end of WOD and I was coughing up a storm after I jogged home. I’ve noticed that I get a bad cough on these cold mornings. Does anyone have any experience with this?

Any word on how Tim is doing after his somersault this morning?

Cal: yes, the official 10ft target at CFSV is *actually* 10 feet. That extra 10% makes a huge difference. I PR’d Karen by a huge amount and danced a jig before I remembered that…

Sean: The burning cold is just hard on the lungs. There’s no getting around it for the most part, but you may ease the impact by focusing “in through the nose, out through the mouth”. That little extra time warming the air in your nose can make a big difference in how hard it hits your lungs.

No update from our acrobat yet, but if I don’t get an email tomorrow I’m calling him… 🙂

    OHS – failed after 4 at 105#

WOD – 9:23 Rx; Nick, good working out next to you tonight, helped me push through it.

I’ve found I have the same coughing issue when it’s cold out. It happened a few weeks ago when there was a short run as part of the WOD when it was a little chilly out. It also happened to me tonight. It seems to start with really bad lactic acid build up in the back of my throat and then I find myself coughing quite a bit. I also noticed during today’s WOD that I my throat was too dry to even swallow. After about 5 tries i just gave up and continued throwing a ball at a wall. I definitely blame the winter air, even if the workout is inside.

    OHS – 110#. failed after 3 @ 115#
    WOD – 9:13 Rx

Brian, it was so great to have someone to chase. It makes such a huge difference!

I noticed the dry/sore throat this morning. I think the lungs must go into a little shock with the huge transition to the cold after a demanding workout.
