Technical
Strength: Power Snatch 3-3-3-1-1-1

Using the hook grip allows us to save our grip strength by using our arms as whips and not rigid pulling elements.
WOD:
Row 500m
3 rounds of:
5 Handstand Pushups
10 Pistols
Row 500m

LEGIT setup, here. Notice tightness in the lower back. Mouth is open moments before taking in a big belly breath.
snatch: got 65# in the most untechnical fashion, which is typical at that weight for me. dropped down to 60# and got a lot of technique work in
wod: 8:52 Rx. I have a soft spot for HSPU and pistols, not so much for rowing.
I also have a supersoft spot for HSPU and pistols (but not for rowing). 🙂
Rad to meet you this morning, even just in passing!
ps…. Rx!!! Does that mean you got your nose to the floor in your HSPU’s??? Jealous!!!! How long did that take you to work up to?
nice to meet you too!! haha, no, the Rx is for the lack of abmat or other scaling for the HSPU.
Recovering from a cold, I told myself I’d take it easy tonight…I think I forgot once we got started.
I tweaked that muscle between the shoulder blade and spine again tonight. I’m thinking it was probably the snatch, but it didn’t start bothering me until the HSPU.
snatch 105#, wod 9:50 with 2 abmats for the HSPU and leaning on the bar for balance on the pistols. First 500m row was a breeze, second row not so much!
