Changing our rest

On March 24th, we did a WOD involving rowing, kettlebell swings and rest.  We’re going to see the same total amount of work today (and a proportional amount of rest), but with much bigger chunks of each dictated to us.  This will feel much different than a few weeks ago.  I encourage you to compare your time (and breaks) to what you did lats time (if you did it).  IF nothing else, the knowledge we gained from going through this with shorter sets and more regular rest can help inform us greatly of our limits and general capacity and enhance our approach to today’s work.

STR:

EMOM 12
3 High Hang snatch

WOD:

2 Rounds:
40 Cal row
40 KB Swings (2/1.5)
Rest 2:00

    Strength: 55lb across
    WOD: 14:35, Rx

Strength: Work on hang power cleans (felt better!) and OHS with just PVC.
WOD: 13:59 with a pood and a quarter. This was the whole reason I showed up to class this morning – to see how much harder this would be than the March version. The answer was that the heavy KB swings got real ugly and broken down into less than 10s, but my overall time wasn’t that much slower. Huh.

Interesting stuff! Thanks for giving us a chance to compare these. There was great push from a big 7:30 crew!

did this a day late: 11:15, but with the Rogue kettlebell, which I think is a few pounds shy of Rx…

    17:22 Rx… lol
