We get a lot of milage out of bilateral movements.  These include things like squats, deadlifts, pull ups, pushup and honestly, the bulk of what we do.  This often allows us to load movements heavier giving us a potent stimulus.  If we never work on movements that are asymmetrical we end up not training many situations that come up in life and that our bodies are built for.  We’ll be focusing today on engaging one leg at a time and how that differs from more symmetrical leg training.  If you’re curious about when this might be useful, the 400m run today will be a good reminder!

STR:

single leg work

WOD:

5 rounds
400m run
10 pistols
20 db snatch

Announcement:

Strong people for hire! Or at least those who might have a big vehicle. Christine Liu’s friend and co-worker is moving on Sept 1 (just a few blocks within Brookline, not crosstown) and is interested in booking a vehicle and/or helpers either Aug 31 evening or Sept 1 morning. Please email liuliuliu@gmail.com or call/txt 617-699-2413 if you’re interested in the gig.
