Rhythm and Motion

Today will take a whole lot of body awareness; having a good frame of reference for the ground as well as how close you come to the box, will help for efficient repetitions. See attached video for demonstration. We will spend some time practicing these before you actually attack them during the WOD.

Strength: Rope Climbs

WOD:

That video guy is REAL psyched about burped box jumps.

    • lynn says:

hahaha, glad I’m not the only “its after 8 is tomorrow’s WOD online yet” creeper! 😉

      • JT says:

Oh, man – y’all musta been jonesin last night when Yosh forgot to post. (After my shenanigans on the posting, I don’t imagine that’ll happen too often again, but one can hope.)

        • Cal says:

i hated it. and when it wasn’t posted when i woke up either, i had an extreme fear of the unknown.

also, auto correct doesn’t recognize burpees. too bad. i wish i didn’t recognize burpees… 🙂

  2. lynn says:

  3. Brian says:

Can’t wait for rope climbs!! Just hope my poor torn up hands can handle it.

And yes, I too am one of the WOD blog stalkers. I’m just glad to know that there are others out there like me. Perhaps now I can get the help I need.

  4. amos says:

Good, the skin on my ankle was just starting to grow back from the last time I did these. Wouldn’t want that.

  5. Jen G. says:

As soon as I realize it’s after 7:30, I start refreshing pages. I need to know!

  6. JT says:

Great work by the early crew at CFSV! Not one, but TWO *virgin rope climbs* today. Congrats to Hillary and Severin who made it all the way up for the first time!

What those of you who show up in the evening may never know is what JT’s secret recipe for magic rope climbs is. (Fortunately I think Yosh has his own secret recipe.)

    • Hillary says:

yes, I was clearly surprised to be up so high! That is a hell of a secret recipe – thanks for sharing! 😉

    • lynn says:

Well, the night crew may have missed out on your magic-rope-climb-secret, but we did get a SWEET tutorial on how to properly tape up blisters (much needed after kipping!). Aaaaaaand we wodded to Rhythm is a Dancer. Just sayin’. 🙂

  7. Ben S says:

love rope climbs (it’s the rope descending that gets a little iffy!)…
wod: 4:54, or maybe :56. legs felt a little heavy this morning.

  8. will says:

I, too, check this thing all the time. I am totally psyched for rope climbs tonight, and let’s just say I need to work on burpees 🙂

  9. will says:

    tonight was wicked fun!!

i mentally prepared myself for burpee box jumps to take me more than 10 minutes, having flashbacks to the festive 50 where i practically died in the burpees. was pretty happy with 5:53.

  10. Brian says:

Rope climbs were fun…wish I had known about the potential for ankle burn.

Yosh, thanks for the pointers on how to wash oneself. Always helpful.

WOD: 3:58 Rx Pretty gassed after that.
