The right scale

Our choice of scaling depends on many things, not the least of which is the WOD itself.  Sure, our skill/strength level of any given movement makes a difference, but what the WOD calls for is just as important.

For today’s WOD, we’re not going to want to get bogged down with the reps on our pull ups.  We’ve also been seeing a need to work on our kipping skills, so today’s suggested scale for pull ups is just the kip.

We’ll be trying to do individual kips, meaning not strung together.  This will help build our control and overall strength with the movement as well as keep the WOD moving so we can get through all these reps!

WOD:

21-18-15-12-9-6

Deadlifts (225/155)

Sit Ups

Pull Ups

HOLIDAY HOURS:

We’ll be closed 12/24 and 12/25, reopening the evening of the 26th.  We’ll also be closed 12/31 and 1/1, but back to normal on 1/2!

    WoD: 15:25 @ 165#, jumping pullups w/an initial kip.

  2. Abigail R says:

    WOD: 20:20 @ 135#, kips

  3. Kevin says:

21:30 @ 185# DL and worked on kipping to a stop. Grip strength was definitely the limiting factor.
