Clean up your act

Nothing screams out body awareness more than Olympic Lifting movements: The Clean and the Snatch. Both take a tremendous amount of coordination and skill, knowing where our body is in relation to the weight. Today we learn how to get an object (whether it be groceries, a boulder, or our little cousin), to our shoulders. You will learn how to Clean! For lack of a better word, the Clean is one badass movement. So powerful is the Clean, that it will aid in every other movement we do. How can I front squat without a rack- CLEAN IT. How do I get that overhead- CLEAN IT. We’re going to have a lot of fun with this. I am fired up!

You may have also noticed a few new toys at the Box. We just got in foam rollers (Soooo much mobility) and the Idea Paint has dried so we’ll be able to use that as well. If you come in early for class, grab a foam roller and attack all those nasty bits. I will continue to teach you proper ways to roll out your business every day. Also, with the Idea Paint, it seems like our little “Wish List” has taken off. So I have put that in the front. Please feel free to write your ideas down. We will be using it in the new year as a goals board!

Struggled with the push press today, really should have stretched out my hands. Great workout.

I wanted to do MWF this week, but I don’t want to miss learning this! (I’m still kicking myself for missing ringdips night last week!). Guess I’m on my way!
