Project update
So the Chickeness graced us with a wonderful talk last night regarding the logistics of raising chickens both here at the box and in general for those who are interested in taking it off site. Â We will be moving forward with this project with the goal of being up and running in the spring if not sooner. Â Our maximum chicken capacity for egg layers looks to be 6 chickens. Â While this will certainly not be enough to supply the whole gym with eggs, it will certainly be a great learning experience, especially if you have any inclination to try this on your own ever. Â We certainly have a solid team ready to dig in to this project but more are always welcome. Â If you are interested in participating and have not yet talked to us about it I encourage you to let us know!
That being said, today’s workout is pretty straightforward. Â Rather than rant, I’ll just throw out the key words that probably stick out anyhow. Â You know, brace up, externally rotate, screw your hands in the floor, break the bar between your hands and what else… oh! Â Active shoulders! Â By this point of our programming cycle these should start to sound super familiar and you (hopefully) know exactly what I’m talking about. Â If not, just ask. Â We’re more than happy to explain! Â =)
STR:
Pulling Volume Training
EMOM 20
WOD:
AMRAP 9
10 shoulder taps
100′ sandbag carry (75/60)Â *touch tape every 25′
* Shoulder taps should ideally be in a handstand (Rx is facing away from the wall), but scale to whatever height allows you to get the taps done unbroken. Â This can be partially up a wall climb, in a plank on the ground or even with our upper body elevated, the way we would scale push ups.

STR: Two L-Pull ups OTM. I wanted to focus on these since I had trouble with them during the Fenway “Twins” wod last week…
WOD: 8+16′ RX with 16′ handstand walks instead of shoulder taps.
Nice work 5:30. Fun chatting today. ð
STR: 2-3 2 blue band pullups per minute. Fun to get away from the green band!
WOD: 8+25′ with bench shoulder taps and 45# sandbag
Good times and giggles – and then some impressive work – in the 7:30!
Volume: 3 Strict Pull-ups ehh
WOD: 8Rounds Even. Scaled Shoulder Taps facing Wall.
So fun.
9 rounds +10 rx
Pull Up VT – 3 pull ups until minute 16 when I had to reduce to 2
7 rounds and 10 taps scaled to a wall facing not fully upright tapping position and 45# bag. I just couldn’t get 60# up on my shoulder.
Brought a newbie Johanna in and she killed it – I think we have a new member on our hands ð She really pushed herself – so proud of her!!
