Light weight, hot mess
We’re getting closer to CrossFit’s “competition season”. Â The open is just around the corner and for those of you interested in participating, this is a great WOD to put yourself in the right mindset. Â The weight is low, the AMRAP is short and there aren’t any super high skill movements. Â It’s purely a test of your engine.
For this reason, no one should be going heavier than the Rx weight.  If you want to “Rx+” this, make each round unbroken.  Once again, just because we can move a certain weight doesn’t mean that we should.
For those curious about our holiday schedule if you haven’t already asked directly, we will be closed on 12/24, 12/25, 12/31 and 1/1. Â Otherwise, our schedule will remain the same. Â Now let’s find out what we’re capable of in 8 minutes…
STR:
Power Cleans (touch and go)
find a max tripple
WOD:
AMRAP 8
10 Power Cleans (115/85)
5 burpees over bar

PC: 145#
WOD: 4 +4 @ 85
I have a really, really hard time stringing together technical movements like this… I constantly feel the need to pause, reset, and (try to) check form.
PC: 165#, I did 2 reps at 185# but it was really ugly so I did a few more singles at that weight to practice
WOD: 5+11 Rx, I need to work on getting under the bar better and not just muscling it up. Thanks for letting me know that KP!
175#PR I think. Had a hard time maintaining the hookgrip on and off the TNG.
WODL 7or8 +3RX
PC: 205# PR
WOD: I lost count. At least 6 rds Rx
This picture of me at the Open is…special.
I’ll be away from the box all this week and next, so I’ll see you guys in let December. I’m missing you people like the deserts miss the rain.
Merry XXXmas!!!
I LOVE that picture from the Open, Lara! It shows that you gave it your ALL… and those of us smiling and clapping like completely sick jerks delighting in your suffering.
Happy Holidays, All!
I know, right? What is WITH you sickos? ð
Power Clean: 205#, had to attempt this twice. Can’t keep a solid grip for the third rep.
WOD: 5+5 rx, attempted touch and go reps for the first round and realized that wasn’t maintainable. Rough workout.
