Double KB C+J
Today we’re taking a familiar movement and doing it with unfamiliar equipment. The clean and the jerk are staple movements in CrossFit, but most of the time they are done with a barbell. This time we’ll be learning how to do them with two kettlebells at once. While these will certainly feel different in some ways, the core principles remain the same: use your hips to move external load and use to arms to mainly connect to and then stabilize the load.
We’ll also get a healthy dose of being upside down, running, and everyone’s favorite: burpee box jump overs!
STR:
upside down work
WOD:
3 rounds
400m run
8 double KB clean and jerks (53/35)
12 burpee box jump overs (24/20)
WoD: 13:26 (Rx weights and heights, missed a jump on the box over)
WoD: 11:23 @ 16 KB C&J. Big crew for 5:30 AM class and the big guys took the heavy bells! As JT noted, however, it was probably for the best!
WOD: 15:11 @ 35# DB C&J & a 500 m row instead of the last run (it was raining heavily)
