The Times They Are A-Changin’

Well friends, I’ve officially lost all sense of time as every day seems to bleed into the next. I’m sure we are all struggling and equally looking for silver linings in our own way.

For me, my time at CFSV has always been a silver lining and especially now – knowing we’re all working towards being in this space together again keeps me motivated in ways I can’t begin to express.

But I digress, as this blog isn’t about me or my search for silver linings. It’s about Coach Jenna and how we’re all going to miss her as she embarks on her next chapter. Jenna will be leaving MA at the end of May and going back to Cali (those of you who are LL Cool J fans can start singing here).

It feels very strange to me to see Coach Jenna move on without a proper sendoff. Jenna and I spent countless hours with JT training for the opportunity to be your coaches and we got up early on a cold Saturday in January to complete our L1 together. We’ve been fortunate enough to continue to develop in this amazing space with the support of this community. Who knew?

I think it goes without saying that Jenna is passionate about coaching, is an incredible athlete, and she will be missed. So please, send her some virtual love!

Coach Jenna imparting wisdom.

Before she goes, Jenna will be taking the lead on the at home programming through the end of May. We’re all super excited to see what she come up with!

Work on that mobility and warm-up sufficiently before you dive into this beauty! As always, I miss you all. We miss you all. Feel fee to reach out to any one of us with questions, random stories, bad dad jokes (save those for JT and coach Michael), or just to say hi. We’re here, and on pretty much every social media outlet. Jenna, we’ll miss you!!!

3 even … I did negatives for pull ups and I’m pretty sure I got faster each round…

Jenna don’t leave! But if you are, hope it is an awesome move forward! We’ll miss you
    workout:
    warm-up: row 2k, tempo pushups
WoD: 4 + 38. Push-ups are sort of jumping (the bar is too low and not wide enough)

  3. Josh Feinman says:

I did floor presses instead of pushups and dubs instead of lateral hops for the WOD. I got 4 rounds. Plank up downs were so hard!

    Jennaaaaaa 🙁

So sad for you to leave, so happy/excited for what the future holds for you! Zoom farewell gathering???

The tempo push-ups were kind of a treat, actually. Felt good to do some strict strength work.

Wod: 4+28 with KB rows, 40 jumping jacks instead of the (loud) lateral hops, and plank up-downs (which had me swearing. They were HARD).

Thanks for a great start to the week!

    4+40 w/ KB rows.

@Jenna – so sad to see you go! Hope the new journey has you excited! Who else is going to show us a path to muscle ups?!?!

A zoom farewell is a great idea.

    8 +16
    Amrap
    8 Pull-ups
    20 8” hurdle lateral hops
    20 plank up downs

  7. Bill Shoesmith says:

3 + 39, table rows, hops over a couple of throw pillows, plank up/downs

  8. Stephen says:

    AMRAP 12
8: Awkward jumping pull-ups w/ a doorway pull up bar (I’m too tall for it/it too low for me)
20: Lateral hops over a milk crate
20: Plank up-downs as shown in the YT video (turns out they are a LOT harder than they look)

3+28, including a considerable travel distance to/from the pull-up bar.

  9. Jack H. says:

Way harder than I thought. As many have said, those plank up downs are real…

    5+32
    8 Strict pull ups
20 Lateral hops over a mini amp
    20 plank up downs

Also thank you Jenna for being a huge part of my introduction to CrossFit! Loved learning from you in the 5:30a classes before all this craziness began. I’m sure you’ll crush whatever challenges back in CA lie ahead!
